What is Youth Leadership International Exchange Program?
The Youth Leadership Program fosters mutual understanding, respect, and civic engagement among young Americans and their international peers.
During the three-four week exchanges, students and educators participate in workshops, community service activities, team building exercises, meetings with community leaders, leadership development, and live with local host families.
Upon their return home, the students apply what they have learned to implement projects that serve needs in their communities.
Administration
Youth Leadership International Exchange Program is administered by Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Program Requirements
All youth participants must:
- Be between the ages of 15 and 18.
Adult participants may be:
- Teachers
- Trainers
- School administrators
- Community leaders who work with youth.
