What is Virginia Weatherization Assistance Program?
The Weatherization Assistance Program provides funding for installation of energy conservation measures in the homes of low-income families to reduce the heating and cooling and to ensure their health and safety. The services are for low-income households, particularly for the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and families with children. The program is administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development through a network of local agencies.

To be eligible for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Virginia. Preference may be given to:
- People over 60 years of age
- Families with one or more members with a disability
- Families with children
In order to qualify, you must also have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below 60 percent of the State Median Income:
