Transition Assistance Program (TAP)

What is Transition Assistance Program (TAP)?
TAP is a cooperative effort between Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS), the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Veterans Administration (VA). TAP provides career information for active duty service members, National Guard, Reserves and spouses of service members separating or retiring from the military.
Administration
Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is administered by U.S. Department of Labor.
Program Requirements
TAP employment workshops are available for military personnel and their spouses who are either:
- Within 24 months of retirement or discharge from the military; or
- 180 days after discharge, on a space available basis
