What is New Hampshire Weatherization Assistance Program?

The state of New Hampshire's Weatherization Program is designed to reduce household energy use and costs in the homes of low-income persons throughout the state by installing energy efficiency improvements. The overall goal of the Weatherization Program is to serve those low-income households that are most vulnerable to high-energy costs and who do not have the means of making cost-effective energy conservation improvements to their homes.

To be eligible for this benefit program, you must be a resident of New Hampshire. Preference may be given to:

  • People over 60 years of age
  • Families with one or more members with a disability
  • Families with children (in most states)

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

*For households with more than eight people, add $10,760 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.

Under DOE guidelines, you are automatically eligible to receive weatherization assistance if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).
