What is Nebraska Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program?
Weatherization enables low-income families in Nebraska to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. The homes of eligible individuals are evaluated to identify the most effective energy and dollar saving improvements. Services include adding insulation, examining energy-related health and safety issues, making heating efficiency improvements, reducing air leakage, and providing energy efficiency education. Preference is given to individuals over 60, individuals with disabilities, and families with children under six.

To be eligible for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Nebraska. Preference may be given to:
- People over 60 years of age
- Families with one or more members with a disability
- Families with children (in most states)
In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

Under DOE guidelines, you are automatically eligible to receive weatherization assistance if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).
