What is Missouri Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)?
Missouri WIC provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support and referrals to health care, at no cost, to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5 who are determined to be at nutritional risk. To be fully eligible for the WIC program, applicants must be determined by a WIC local agency health professional, to be at nutritional risk (i.e., have certain medical-based or diet-based risk conditions). This service is provided at no cost to the applicant.

Missouri WIC eligibility criteria includes residents of Missouri who meet one of the following category guidelines:
• Pregnant women
• Women breastfeeding an infant up to the infant’s 1st birthday
• Postpartum women up to 6 months after delivery or end of pregnancy
• Infants up to their 1st birthday
• Children until their 5th birthday
Fathers, grandparents, guardians and foster parents may also apply for benefits for infants and children living in their household.
In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

Pregnant women may be counted as two persons in the household.
A person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as SNAP, TANF or select Medicaid programs, automatically meets the income eligibility requirement.
