What is Literature Fellowships?
Fellowships for creative writers are available on a two-year cycle with fellowships in prose available one year and fellowships in poetry available the next. Fellowships in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) or poetry that enable recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement are available to published creative writers.
Grants are also available to published translators of literature for projects that involve the specific translation of prose, poetry or drama from other languages into English.

Literature Fellowships is administered by National Endowment for the Arts.
Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with current or past experience as a published writer or translator.
