What is Idaho Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho (TAFI)?
Temporary Assistance for Families in Idaho (TAFI) is the monthly cash assistance program for low-income families in Idaho. The program goal is to provide necessary assistance to needy families with children on a temporary basis and provide parents with job preparation, work opportunities, enforcement of child support, and support services to enable them to become self-sufficient, and leave the program as soon as possible. This is a time-limited cash assistance and supportive services program with an emphasis on self-reliance and personal responsibility.

Program Requirements
To be eligible for IdahoTANF, you must be a resident of Idaho, and a U.S. citizen, legal alien or qualified alien. You must be unemployed or underemployed and have low or very low income. You must also be one of the following:
- Have a child 18 years of age or younger, or
- Be pregnant, or
- Be 18 years of age or younger and the head of your household.
